September Interfaith Service: Prayers for Peace
On Tuesday, September 10th, there will be the second annual Interfaith Service with a Candle-lighting Ceremony, Special Music, and Prayers for Peace from many religions. This special service will take place from 6 - 7 pm, in the Sanctuary at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 106 N. Riverside Drive, Indialantic, Florida. Refreshments will follow in the Fellowship Hall.
We are honored to have Prayer Presenters from these traditions: Judaism, Native American, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Islam, Baha'i, Buddhist, Presbyterian and Humanist.
Prayer can take many forms -- a prayer can be spoken or silent, sung or chanted, or even danced. A prayer can be an asking from the heart, an invocation, a blessing or a deep listening. Rabbi Jonathan Sacks said, "The world we build tomorrow is born in the prayers we say today." Please join us in building a more kind and peaceful world with this evening of interfaith community and sacred, shared intention.
"When the raft of prayer leaves the noisy streams
of words and thoughts, it enters the still lake of silence ...
and then your prayer will be of one pulse beat
with the Divine Heart."
~ John O'Donohue
